The Hare Krishna movement has led the way in sharing superbly tasty, nutritious and sanctified vegetarian food with the world for almost fifty years. We travel across Australia to give people an opportunity to meet spiritually-minded people, share our spiritual knowledge and distribute sanctified pure vegetarian food.

Presented over four days in the middle weekend of the Adelaide Festival, the world’s best artists, thinkers, dancers and creators join in a celebration of music, tolerance, goodwill, cultural curiosity and joy amongst the green oasis of Adelaide’s majestic Botanic Park.
WOMADelaide regularly attracts around 20,000 people per day, (not including children 12 and under who are admitted free) with over a third of attendees coming from interstate and overseas. WOMADelaide programming will generally feature up to 500 artists from around 30 countries. Set in the magnificent inner city Botanic Park, the action across seven outdoor stages comprises performances and workshop activities and is complemented by a strong range of site performance and visual arts programs. Other focused programming initiatives include the popular The Planet Talks environmental discussions series, and the Taste the World food and cooking demonstrations that feature festival artists introducing audiences to the food and culture of their homelands. Additional festival attractions include the KidZone for children’s arts activities, the Electrolounge – a late night electronic music club in Speakers’ Corner, and the Global Village with over 100 international food, retail and charity stalls, bars and the Taste The World Restaurant.

From a gathering of local folkies back in 1996, Wintermoon has grown to be an event which offers an exciting variety of music and attracts an audience of all ages and from all walks of life, who gather to share in the joy that Wintermoon brings.
The Festival is held on a beautiful property at Cameron’s Pocket, halfway between Mackay and Proserpine, set against the stunning backdrop of Eungella National Park. It is bordered by picturesque St Helens Creek, which flows all year and provides a great swimming hole for our guests and performers to cool off, if they can tear themselves away from the music and other seductive attractions on offer.
The festival not only boasts some of the best world music performers from Australia, but also showcases some of our local talent on three stages strategically placed at various locations within the grounds. Colourful market stalls, food stalls, kiddies activities, craft and music workshops dot the landscape.
There is a particular focus on family, and we aim to provide an exhilarating musical experience for all ages in a safe and friendly environment.
In the words of Bruce Watson, “Everyone smiles ‘hello’ as you wander around. It’s the friendliest festival I know. You feel like part of a community, not a festival-goer”, and regarding our program, “Wintermoon punches above its weight in terms of the calibre and profile of national acts”.
